Ben the Illustrator

Ben the Illustrator says 'I believe that good places make people feel good. I have an affinity with nature; trees, flowers, animals, birds, streams, oceans, rainbows, mountains, grass, you get the picture.

I also love cities; London, Melbourne, Tokyo, New York, Paris, you get the picture. I believe that our surroundings, natural or man-made, can ignite truly wonderful feelings within us. I have spent a lot of time experiencing places; breathing fresh air, walking on beaches, shading under trees, weaving through crowds, admiring skylines, studying architecture.

My professional work is deeply related to my passion for our fascinating environments, and the emotions evoked by them. I aim to translate my feelings into visual artwork. I like to excite and inspire, to feed people fresh air and fresh surroundings. Good places make people feel good. That is why I am an illustrator.

I am a highly experienced illustrator, renowned for a positive, creative outlook and a solid understanding of commercial design, the visual arts and successful business. I love it. I relish diversity and welcome all opportunities; large or small, print or digital, editorial or advertising, interiors or fashion, monotone, colourful or outrageous.'

'A long-term ad campaign for Smart Cars across Europe.  The illustrations were used for 'alternative print media' to appeal to a younger, fashionable audience, at car shows and lifestyle events. The artworked car itself was created for the American launch of Smart Cars in San Jose.'

Some really great fabrics with unusual print patterns created with his wife, Fiona.

Feature in Creative Arts magazine.

From working with Smart Car, to creating his own fabric prints with his wife, and being featured in Creative Arts magazine, this colourful illustrator has caught our eye!

He has a lovely range from work, and I like the experiments with colour, curves, and mixing his usual illustrations with textures like the two images above.

See more of his work here.
