The Lego Story
This great whimsical story of the history behind the successful child's toy, Lego. To celebrate their 80 years in production, Lego released this short film illustrating the ups and downs of the production of Lego. Get ready to feel nostalgic watching this plastic brick story as it gets passed through the generations and the development to make the toy what it is today.
It starts in the carpentry workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen where the inventor starts making wooden toys after losing his job, moving through to his son Gotfred inheriting the business and pushing the full potential of the company and finally to his grandson Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen.
And a little fact of where the name came from: Lego comes from the Danish for “play well” is “leg godt.” Coincidentally, Lego means “I put together” in Latin.
